Buying multimedia these days is a confusing process. When you want a sight-and-sound program to tout your company in person or on the web, what do you ask for? Probably a ?Flash? or a ?PowerPoint?. Problem is, that?s putting the cart before the horse.
Today?s audiovisual world is filled with possibilities?some are found in the way shows are shown; others in the way they are created. One thing should be sure– video will be a part of your presentation?at least if you want to make a real splash.
This article looks at the multimedia/video/presentation buying process and offers ten considerations you need to make to successfully commission?or produce?your next major audiovisual communication. I hope you will adopt them.
1. Flash? PowerPoint? Video? Don?t Rush to Conclusions.
When you?ve got a story to tell and it requires sight and sound, be careful not to prescribe the solution too quickly. One man?s PowerPoint these days is another woman?s video. When people need something to run off of their computer, they?re quick to ask for ?a PowerPoint show? or ?one of those ?FLASH? things.?
Right idea, but not necessarily the right spec.
Flash is considered hip, and PowerPoint is considered a must. But PowerPoint and Flash often are just containers for VIDEO, just as a VHS tape and a DVD are containers for video.
SO, just because you want your project on the web or on computer CD-ROM, doesn?t mean it shouldn?t incorporate?or be?video. Video is what the big boys use?often, even in major documentaries and motion pictures.
Don?t choose the production method solely on the distribution method.
2. Sound Is the Secret Weapon.
What?s the first thing you remember about ?Star Wars?? Dah-dah, da-da-da dahhhh-dahhh!
Yup, the music. And the sound effects?the hum of the light sabers, the drone of the Death Star. Can you imagine Star Wars without music?
Even in corporate videos, music plays an extremely important part. But you?d be surprised how few producers actually realize that. They?ll let a narrator blab on and on, and, to add insult to injury, you?ll hear the same piece of music looping for the entire length of the show! (Flash presentations are notorious for this.)
Sound tells your audience how to feel; how to distinguish what?s important; when to react and how.
A picture is worth a thousand words? Music is worth a thousand emotions?like loyalty, belief, trust, enthusiasm?all potent predictors of productivity.
3. Create for the Environment.
Ever see an IMAX film on home video? Is it the same as in the IMAX theater? Ever see your favorite movie on a 4-inch LCD? Was it the same as in your home theater?
No, of course not. IMAX movies and major motion pictures (especially science fiction and thrillers) are created for LARGE screens, in rooms where people are quiet and the sound has impact.
Commercials played in sports arenas on those big jumbotrons generally feature very little dialog. Who?d hear it? You can barely hear the music.
When a video communications project is strategized, the environment in which it will be played is an important part of deciding the style and intensity of production. If your CD-ROM is never going to make it past a laptop, running out and shooting sweeping panoramas of the countryside may not be necessary?but plenty of close ups will be.
Play to the room.
4. How Long Should It Be?
Attention spans are short! Shouldn?t all videos be short? Well, there?s short, and short. There?s real time, and perceived time.
A boring video goes on forever. An exciting video ALWAYS seems shorter than it is, and often bears seeing a second time!
Audiences aren?t stupid. They don?t have short attention spans; they just don?t like to be bored. A good story will transcend time. It will seem shorter but last longer in their minds.
5. $1,000 a Minute? $200 per Slide? $3.99 a Pound?
Pricing is always liable to a lot of subjectivity, and so over the years people have tried to ?quantify? the production of multimedia materials. A thousand dollars a minute has been quoted since the late 1960s?for film!
But let?s shatter some illusions. Video production (in fact, many creative activities) can not be judged entirely on the running time. It takes $2 million and 9 months to produce a single 24-minute episode of the Simpsons. I?ve seen industrial training tapes that ran 90 minutes and grossed the producer $2,000.
Shouldn?t he have gotten $90,000? Not for pointing a camera at a podium and hitting record, and editing out awkward pauses!
It is MUCH tougher to produce a great five-minute video that will rouse an audience and get specified results. To keep up a broadcast-quality pace, to have the right music, to shoot in various locales, to create high-quality 3-D and other animations… well, it?ll cost more than $5,000, I guarantee that. Sometimes, not much more, but other times, 10 times that amount. Your producer should be willing to write a proposal, tell you what she plans to do, and give you a specific quotation for that exact effort.
6. What Style Should It Be?
On the surface, communications styles change often. After all, audiences like what is current and hip?to them. But different audiences come from different age groups, economic backgrounds, regions; so what is hip to a 22-year-old web designer in Atlanta might not be hip to the 45-year-old engineer in Dallas.
Your producer needs to think like a chameleon. Yes, we all have our own strengths and styles, but we are working for you. And you have a corporate style and a defined audience. Too slow a pace, not enough hip animation, and maybe the twenty-somethings will snooze. Too kinetic, too flashy, too loud, and maybe the chairman of the board will have your head.
Maybe you?ve never seen American Idol, but that doesn?t make it unpopular with a large part of the population. If you?re not hip on the likes of an audience, trust someone who is?your producer, or that DJ-wannabe who can name everything ever produced by
Jay-Z.
Uh, who?
7. Can I Have That Tuesday?
If it?s your dry cleaning, yes.
If it?s the multimedia project or video that is going to convince 5,000 that downsizing is good for them, well, no.
Good video takes time.
How much time? A well-designed, strategized, outlined, planned, written, and produced project (already it sounds long) takes time. Here?s a planning guide for a typical 10-minute video:
Write proposal–1 week
Script–2-3 weeks
Production planning–2 weeks
Shooting–2 weeks
Logging and digitizing tapes–1 week
Music selection, voice tracking–1 week
Rough cut–1-2 weeks
Review time (script, rough cut)–1 week (it?s up to you)
Final edit and effects–1.5 weeks
Duplication–2 weeks
With overlap, overtime, and some real sweet talking from you and me to the hard-working staff, maybe we can cut that down or work some things in parallel. But don?t kill the messenger. Allowing sufficient time for the project will get you one hell of a program In the long run, when you do it right, it shows. And the spin-off benefits are enormous.
8. Use Interviews for Believability
Interviews?with your customers, employees, suppliers, even you?can have a dramatic impact on the credibility engendered by your video.
This is especially true for ?softer? subjects, such as fundraising, public opinion, HRD company introductions, tributes, etc.
Interviews are not what they seem. They appear candid (and are); they seem unscripted (and are); they seem easy to do and a way to skip scriptwriting (they ARE NOT).
Interviews require research?who has the best stories, attitude, presence. Interviews require testing?a pre-interview. And they require scripting, if only as a target goal to help the interviewer frame the right questions.
Never let your producer put words into people?s mouths?a pet phrase, an endorsement, a rah-rah statement?unless the interviewee came up with it candidly. There?s no faster way for all of you to look boneheaded.
And I don?t think THAT was the purpose of the video.
9. Video?s Hidden Value
Many ?big? videos and presentations are created for meetings. They unveil the theme, set the stage, introduce a new product, whatever.
But when management realizes they will be used only once, they often become ?unnecessary.? Staging, projectors, production costs?that?s a lot of cabbage for 500 sales people. Couldn?t we add a second entr?e at the awards dinner?
Fact is, I agree with your boss?to the extent that everything should have a repurposing value. And today?s video does. Plan it right, write it right, and in no time your video?or at least scenes from it?can be used on the web, on CDs and DVDs, and in your salespeople?s PowerPoint presentations.
Now you can justify the purchase and sleep a bit easier.
By the way, even WITHOUT a reuse value, there is nothing like a rousing video opener at a big meeting to set the tone, redefine a company, begin the change process, and build a roaring fire under your sales team?s butts. The difference is seen in sales; they have the energy?AND new video tools to take with them. The increased revenue more than pays for the cost of the video.
10. A Good Video Producer Knows Sales
And not just because he sold you a project.
Video done right is a form of persuasion. It follows all the good rules of sales (with some exceptions).
First of all, videos must get audiences saying yes. We have to start with common ground and then build our case.
Video incorporates logic. ?If, then, and after that, then??
And video promotes emotional connection. Add the emotional punch, and now you?ve got a sale.
If a video producer doesn?t know this, then he?s not a producer?he?s a craftsman working at some aspect of our trade. And that is fine.
But those who can sell audiences?they are few and far between.
The care and consideration that goes into producing your company?s video overview, sales presentation, or funding solicitation is no less important than the wording of a direct mail piece, the design of your ad campaign, or the development of a corporate identity. For, indeed, a video presentation becomes your corporate identity.
Use these ten tips and you?re on your way to perhaps the most successful communications project you?ve ever undertaken. That just might mean a raise, a corner office, or at least a slap on the back. And that?s all good.

Becoming a game tester is probably a little more than you would expect. There are three things you must have before pursuing a game tester job.
1. A Sincere Love of Playing Video Games!
I mean you love to play all the time and almost never get tired of playing. if you could be fed through a tube you would play forever. If you’re a casual player then this might not be for you.
2. You Are Really Good!
You have to also be really good at video games. These companys don’t have a lot of time waiting for you to learn the game. If you don’t have skills, how can you test a new game for release?
3. Must be 16 Years of Age.
This is a qualification that meets child labor laws and is the minimum age that can be employed for this type of work. If your just a bit younger then you can always start getting ready by working on your skills and staying up to date with the new games and trends.
If you have these three things then you have the foundation to be a game tester. The next step is creating a gamer profile and getting it out to the appropriate companies for review.
You can do this yourself, or you can sign up with one of the game tester clubs that are legitimate and they will help do most of the ground work for you.
Don’t want to wait? Then check out one of the services in our reviews by clicking the link in the author or resource box with this article..
We reviewed most services and found the ones that can actually help you achieve this goal. Please read our reviews and see if one of these fits you best. Go to Skeptic-Reviews dot com to read our full review.

Flash game designers are looking for new, innovative ways to draw attention to their creations these days. Free flash games are being played by millions of people online daily, but some designers are making their games customizable to put a new twist into an already popular internet arcade.
Many people got a chance to play the very popular elf game during Christmas 2006, created by Office Max, where a user could upload any face image, which would replace the elf?s default face. The result was about a thirty-second elf song and dance that provided hours of fun and laughs. Some of these creations can still be viewed by searching for the terms ?elf yourself? on Youtube.
Does anyone remember how bad we treated substitute teachers in school? Honestly, it seems pretty cruel to think of how students act when there is a sub in the classroom. Spitballs slapped the chalkboard, pencils stuck down from the acoustic ceiling tiles, and even disgusting sounds were made behind the teacher?s back. These are just a few of the classroom assault tactics that we are familiar with. I mean, think about it. Your boss or teacher is driving you nuts. In fact, they are annoying just about everyone. What better way to have some fun at their expense than by pasting their faces on a dancing elf? Now that we are armed with free weapons of ridicule on our PC that give us a harmless, yet hilarious platform for hours of endless fun, we can put down the erasers and let everyone in on the joke.
These types of flash games are fun for a small audience. But why stop there? We can now feature a bald Britney Spears, or a jailed Paris Hilton in our spoofs, for the entire world to see on sites such as Youtube. Why limit the viewing audience to a small handful? It is much more fun for millions of people to see our creations. Isn?t having your productions seen by the world, the new wave of the internet?
What is yet to come in flash media? 3d flash games are just around the corner. There?ll be nothing like being ?in the game?. While sporting a nifty pair of 3d glasses and experiencing animation like never before, the PC gamer will get to see quite an improvement since the Jaws 3d movie debuted. Hopefully with the purchase of a PC Gamer magazine, we?ll get to play shorts created by the likes of Halo and Starcraft animation teams. These companies, who are already leading the pack in the design of action console games, will give you a 3d glimpse of their games in flash format to reach out to new online customers.
What is already here? Current technology has recently been responsible for design of a powerful development library, which allows creation of Macromedia Flash and Java based flash games and applications with advanced motion detection capability. In simple terms, this means users can play 80s classic Breakout, using only their hands to bat the ball and hit the blocks. Other games let you play simply by waving your hand in front of a webcam, such as an Air Drums game.
Flash game designers are ready and willing to try anything that gamers desire. Companies like Animated Marketing, are asking flash gamers to send their ideas for consideration to be created into flash media animation and free games. Apparently no idea is too outlandish. They want to provide more of what people are looking for in flash games and media.
Whether you want to see your boss dancing around in a monkey?s body, or play classic Breakout without a keyboard or mouse, flash programmers are giving online users hours of free, addictive fun.

World of WarCraft (WoW) is an MMORPG — a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. It was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and is the 4th game in the Warcraft series, not including expansion packs and “Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans” which was cancelled.
The Warcraft series of games are set in the Warcraft Universe. This universe is a fantasy setting that was first introduced in “Warcraft: Orcs & Humans” back in 1994. The previous release was “Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.” World of Warcraft takes place four years after the final events in Warcraft III.
** Rise to the challenge or die
If you are looking for a game that will provide a serious challenge as well as hours and hours of enjoyment, WoW is perfect for you. Some people claim it even makes you smarter, sharper and quicker on your feet because it is so demanding.
WoW will keep you busy for hours on end because there is almost no limit to the tasks and objectives it challenges you to perform. You may be surprised to find how open-ended it is. So if you like games with a definite “conclusion” you may be disappointed by World of Warcraft.
Reaching the 60th level is about the closest you will come to completing the game. But getting to that point is not easy. Very few, relatively speaking, have accomplished that feat.
** Breaking into World of Warcraft
The early levels in WoW are fairly straightforward. They give you the opportunity to get to know the game and to get a feel for how it is played. That means the learning curve is not as steep as with some other games. WoW’s difficulty factor progresses gradually, and soon you will find yourself confronted with new and more difficult challenges.
Each level of World of Warcraft has many quests. Completing or fulfilling one quest often leads directly to another. For instance your quest may be something simple like gathering items and then transporting them through a series of obstacles to a previously unknown destination. That may then lead to something more substantial such as solving a mystery you find when you get to your destination.
** Learning to overcome your opponents
As the name implies, World of Warcraft has its share of warfare, combat and fighting. This often involves overcoming an unending string of monsters and opponents of various shapes and sizes. Your skill as a warrior improves as you learn what works and what doesn’t.
But your opponents also grow stronger, more clever, and more devious as you progress through the game. They do not just come at you with their weapons and brute strength, but have other ways of defeating you - through curses, or even infecting you with deadly diseases. Each new challenge requires skill and resourcefulness on your part.
That means that a successful player must develop many skills as he or she goes along. And these skills will vary depending on your character. They include such things as the appropriate use of magic, tracking opponents and beasts on maps, launching missles at opponents, and creating portals so you can move yourself out of harm’s way.
Give World of Warcraft a try. Like millions of other online gamers, you will probably find it exciting, entertaining and challenging.

If you’re lucky enough to own a Sony PSP, you’re probably very excited about all the different things it can do. Unfortunately, watching movies is not one of the simpler things to do with a PSP, and it seems that many people have no idea how it’s done. I’ve put together a few quick steps here, so hopefully once you’ve read this you’ll know exactly how to put videos on PSP.
Essentials-Memory Stick- you need at least 500mb free to do this, but the more the better really. These things are really much cheaper than they used to be, so check Ebay or Amazon to find a good deal. You?ll also need to be near a computer with an internet connection and a USB cable that you can connect the computer to the PSP with.
Step- 1
Switch the PSP off, and use the USB cable to connect the PSP to the computer. Once connected, switch the PSP on.
Step- 2
Go into the settings menu on the PSP, and hit X. This should make the computer link to the PSP and vice versa. Once it’s done, go to the computer and open My Computer-you should see that there is a new volume there, much in the same way that an external HD is added or a flash drive.
Step- 3
Go into the PSP Memory Stick and open the folder named PSP. Once it’s open, create another folder inside it. It’s very important to get the name correct ‘MP_ROOT’ and then create an additional folder called ‘100mnv01′
Step- 4
You will need to save any movies you want to watch in the folder you created named ‘100mnv01′. Once they are saved there, you can start to watch them by clicking on the image inside the Memory Stick. It’s important to note that you will need the movies in MP4 format, and you can find plenty of software around to perform the conversion if you need to.
Didn’t I tell you it was simple when you knew how? There it is, that?s exactly how to put videos on PSP.

The Alliance Leveling Guide was written by Brian Kopp and he has set records on multiple servers for being the fastest to reach level 70. After checking out his World of Warcraft Alliance leveling guide, I know why.
Not only does the guide go in-depth with how to power level an alliance character, Brain also provides map tweak so you will never get lost on your journeys. Brain Kopp broke down the quest for each alliance race. Someone starting as a Human, like myself, would get just as much use out of the guide as someone that wanted to start as an Elf or Dwarves. It was recently updated with Burning Crusade information covering levels 60-70.
Those of you new to the WOW community have a load of questions, one of the most common questions beings asked all over the internet is what is a World of Warcraft Alliance leveling guide? The short answer is that it is one of the ways for you to learn how to ascend through the game by becoming more powerful within the Alliance faction. The long answer is detailed below, if you don t like to read these articles, rest assured that a World of Warcraft Alliance leveling guide is essential to your success.
Needless to say, I have been very impressed with Brain Kopp?s Alliance Leveling Guide. While I am still a little anxious about announcing that I am using it, I feel the value it adds makes it the best WoW Alliance Leveling Guide available. It tops other Alliance Leveling Guides by providing amazing detail in terms of quests and leveling tips.
The WOW is basically the battle between two warring factions, the Horde and the Alliance and once you have made the decision to fight for the Alliance you need to begin moving up through the game. Like any other game you must move from level to level to become a more diversified and sophisticated character, but this game isn t like any other in that there is so much for you to learn and accomplish.
The reason you need a World of Warcraft Alliance leveling guide is so you can have somebody who has accomplished the feat of making it through these levels pointing you in the right direction. Instead of taking the wrong turn or buying the wrong amount of gold you can get a World of Warcraft Alliance leveling guide to show you just how much of this or that you must learn to make it through the game and accomplish your goals.
A World of Warcraft Alliance leveling guide shouldn?t t be incredibly difficult for you to find as many gamers have realized the demand and popularity for making a guide. All you have to do is find the World of Warcraft Alliance leveling guide that speaks to you and makes it all come together. You can make it through WOW without a World of Warcraft Alliance leveling guide, but I doubt you have the patience!

1. Its really easy and should be done right from the start of the game. Grab the 2 primary professions, mining and skinning. While you’re out leveling yourself you can easily skin the animals. You’re bound to eventually enter a mine which will have many minerals. Be sure to mine those ores. You can easily sell off the extra items to merchants or players.
2. Make sure you grab quests every chance you get. You can easily gain additional exp, gold, items and faction while you’re leveling. You may even complete some of your quests with out even knowing because they normally require you to kill off mobs or require you to travel/speak to other NPCs. The quests of World of Warcraft are more player friendly than other MMORPGs.
3. Don’t spend any money buying World of Warcraft items, equipments and other accessories early in the game. Low level characters from 1-40 are not gear dependent. Along with that fact, you’ll get a nice load of items from just completing quests.
4. While you’re out leveling, there are certain monsters that has better drops than others. An example would be humanoids. They tend to drop more gold and items than any other creatures in the World of Azeroth.
5. This is the advice I give to friends. When setting up your character, be sure first to read about the characters plus, and minuses; then set up for the strong and weak points. Take in consideration how the character supports himself and how the character can keep going and keep on track to level without losses.
6. Don’t spend money on items at the auction during the first 10 levels of your character. Almost everything you will need will drop to you from the quests. Keep your activities balance in the amount time of questing and making products. Then, as you gain money from making and questing you will see your pocket grow.
7. The usual, your character does by the skills he has, whether it is mining, leather, or tailoring. You make and sell your products. This is how you gain, the more you practice your trade, the more gold you have in your pocket, when you sell the items. The higher the level your character is the higher the prices in the prices of your products.
8. Resale, this happened during the holidays. I know of a character that went out and bought snowballs and after collecting many, was selling them at a higher price to others. Later, bragging about the profit. Take advantage of this.
9. Once you level some you can charge others to guide them through lower quests that you can whiz threw. There are many ways to make money, for example you can protect and kill for lower characters.
10. In the group playing, be sure to express your wants and needs, to keep the character going. Drink and food on hand before; so your character can keep going till the quest is completed.

You are likely to be seeing a new ingredient in some weight loss supplements by the name of Caralluma Fimbriata. Caralluma Fimbriata is similar to hoodia in that it is a natural appetite suppressant.
Caralluma Fimbriata is said to be a vegetable that is used daily in tribal India. It is eaten in several different forms and it is said that it is used by tribesman in the same way Hoodia is used in other parts of the world ? Tribesman will consume it before a long hunt to curb the appetite.
A company named Gencor Pacific USA has created a brand called Slimaluma ? which is a standardized extract of Caralluma Fimbriata. Caralluma Fimbriata already has some studies behind it that makes it look very promising in the world of weight loss dietary supplements.
If you have tried Hoodia and did not have any success, you may want to try Caralluma Fimbriata before giving up on an all natural appetite stimulant. Currently there are not many products on the market containing Caralluma Fimbriata but I suspect that will change in the near future. We will probably start seeing combination products which contain other well known weight loss supplements such as green tea, Citrimax, and Chromium.
Remember that weight loss supplements usually target different areas. Some are considered fat burners, some inhibit the absorption of carbs or fat, and some are appetite suppressants. Caralluma Fimbriata is for people who want help in controlling their appetite.
We may see Caralluma Fimbriata combined with ingredients designed to burn fat, absorb carbs, etc. Keep in mind what your goal is before purchasing a weight loss supplement and you will probably not be disappointed with the results. It appears Caralluma Fimbriata will be affordable and the dosages will be reasonable. It appears that dosages are going to be around 1 gram per day. The manufacturers will probably recommend divided doses throughout the day but be sure and follow the directions on the bottle.

I think games in the future will be even more realistic then the games we already have with our Xbox 360s and Play Station 3s. Microsoft and Sony will more than likely come out with something even more insane like a virtual game or something and that would be the game of the century. To have a virtual game that you put on but still used an Xbox or Play Station and you played shooting games like you play online today. I think that would be the best game to come out ever.
If you just thought about what we have now and just think about we will have in the future you should be amazed because with graphics and games getting so much more finer in quality and look it going to be a good future.
Just like I said about the virtual game thing you could have that same idea but have just sunglasses to put on and you see everything through the lenses. That would be a lightweight piece to put on yet a whole big bang of game, if you just had that and an Xbox you would be set for playing online. That would be a whole new online experience for most gamers. I wouldn’t think that anyone had ever seen anything like that before.
Also people are suggesting that they would like to be able to speak with characters from the game. The whole point of the game is to play not talk is what I think. I think if you want to talk you need to get online and play a game like Counterstrike or Day of Defeat or maybe get on Xbox live and do some Gears of War or Halo 3. That’s the type of games that you should want to talk on or to. If you ever go online you will see people talking online a lot and that might motivate you to get involved. It’s a lot better to want to talk to other people online then talk to a character in a game that is made to answer questions that you are going to ask unless it has a brain and can speak and think on its own. I don’t think something like that would come out for at least another hundred years.
If you are the one to talk then you should just go online or get an Xbox and an Xbox live account and get started playing shooting games online or play some type of role playing game. That’s if you want to talk in the game that you are playing. You can still not talk and play online or on any other game. I think playing games online like Madden and sports games are fun and you don’t have to talk with other people. Most people do like the idea of being able to talk with each other especially since you can talk with people from all over the world. I don’t see why someone would want to talk with a game character in a game.
